Indigenous Peoples’ Day

In October, the AdvoKids program celebrates Indigenous Peoples’ Day by learning about those who originally inhabited the land LICM sits on. Participants will focus on learning about the Indigenous people of Long Island (the Island of Shells), the Shinnecock tribe, then create a turtle craft, an important part of the story of this Indigenous tribe.
